Calcined kaolin thermal processing
Applications / Calcined Kaolin

High-brightness minerals for demanding applications

Sree Sai Mineral Industries produces calcined kaolin through controlled thermal processing of high-purity washed kaolin, achieving a level of brightness, opacity and abrasion resistance that raw and hydrous grades cannot match.

Our calcined kaolin is widely used as a functional filler and opacifier in high-opacity coatings, engineering plastics and specialty rubber compounds, backed by an in-house quality laboratory and a Certificate of Analysis with every batch.

Why Calcined Kaolin

The role calcination plays in your formulation

Ultra-High Brightness

Controlled thermal calcination delivers brightness values exceeding standard hydrous grades.

Excellent Opacity

Increased refractive index and air-void structure boost hiding power.

Abrasion Resistance

Hardened particle structure after calcination improves wear and abrasion resistance.

Low-Impurity Consistency

Batch-to-batch uniformity verified in our in-house QC lab.

FAQ's

Calcined Kaolin — Common Questions

Calcined kaolin is produced by heating washed kaolin at high temperature, which removes structural water and increases brightness, opacity and abrasion resistance beyond what raw or washed kaolin can achieve.

Calcined kaolin is widely used as a high-opacity functional filler in coatings, as a reinforcement and opacifying filler in engineering plastics, and as a reinforcing grade in specialty rubber compounds.

We supply in 25 kg and 50 kg HDPE bags, 1-tonne jumbo (FIBC) bags, and bulk container loading for larger manufacturing plants.
